Well, I am having a bit of trouble with the mosquitos. Last night, while I was sleeping, they formed a squadron and invaded my room. These Italian mosquitos are quite deadly, as they are VERY quiet and almost impossible to hear. Anyways, they feasted their little hearts out on my left eyelid and this morning when I woke up, I could barely open my eye. When I looked in the mirror, I was beyond distraught....My eyelid had almost completely swolen over my eyeball....it was truly horrific to behold. I showed it to Grandma Rosa and she gave me some cream. However, it still looked just as gruesome when I got to the school. As I walked through the halls, children screamed, adults fainted, and even the bravest souls turned and bolted in the opposite direction. When I walked into my classroom, one of my dear little students, Martina, screamed "Mama Mia" and nearly started crying. I explained that it was only a mosquito bite and she sat stroking my arm and looking at me in pity for nearly five minutes. The camp director gave me a bottle of cream for bug bites and that has helped immensly. I can now see out of my eye, and it only looks ugly, rather than monsterous. I plan to sleep with a t-shirt wrapped around my eyes tonight, since this is the second time that the mosquitos have attacked my face.
On Sunday, I am going to Verona, with some friends. For those of you literature buffs, you will remember that Verona is the setting for Shakespears Romio and Juliet. The city is about 2 hours from Roccafranca, and we are planning to leave in the morning, so that we can spend the day sight seeing. Hopefully, both of my eyes will be fully functional by then and I will not scare the locals with my beastly eyeball.

I miss you!!!!
Amber
Oh, honey.
Sorry about the mosquitoes. I can't say I've had one on my eyeball, but I do empathize with you just the same. I do hate those bugs.
Verona! Squee! How cool for you! I would simply love to be with you. I don't care what you have to do to me next year, just make me come if you do this again.
Btw, mom and dad are just about having hysterics at your descriptions on this blog. It's quickly become my mom's favorite thing to check. :D
Love, Miss
Ooh, guess what? I've been inspired and am trying to learn Italian. So far I can order breakfast- coffee and a pastry- say hello, ask how you are, and ask for a ticket to places. I'm quite pleased with my evening of work. In the spirit of learning Italian- Come stai?
Love, Miss
Sis,
Ahhhh...in true Rick Wagner form....describing events and circumstances as they "really" happen ....and the details...always very important for us detail people....
Sounds like your experience is totally awesome other than having to pack your eyeball around in a large handbag while it shrinks down...well...as with all things..."this to will pass".
Mom and I had a great time at Kahneeta....talking biomass...27th anniversary...then hunting thundereggs on the way home with Grandpa....and you thought Italy was good.
Well...leaving for Tahoe next weekend....gotta get hay in...send us an email...so far we have not gotten any emails from you..don't know if you have sent any.....
Love ya......Pops.
Miss,
I am so honored that you are learning Italian...it sounds as though you are much more advanced in the language than I am...no really, I do not even know the word for breakfast, lunch, or dinner...much less order the bloody meal :-) Oh, I have sent you a postcard from Verona...you would have loved the city-it is just georgeous! You ARE coming with me next year..
Ciao,
Kristin
Amber,
What is your address? I want to send you a postcard, but do not know where to send it to. Congratulations on the job interview!!!! That is awesome. What grade is it for? Teaching place value...mmmm...use manipulatives. I like the colored sticks that are different lengths...I cannot remember what they are called...ask Tooke, he will know :-)
Kristin
Pops,
You will be happy to know that I am no longer "packing my eyeball around in a handbag"-haha-nice description...quite fitting, actually. I am glad that you and mom got to get away for your anniversary. Sounds like a rockin good time-heeheehaha-cannot believe that I missed the thunderegg hunt...once again. Some people are just naturally unlucky....Ohh, I did send you guys an email to Karis email address. I will try to call on moms birthday. Have fun in Tahoe...that is something that I AM actually jealous of :-)
Love ya,
Kristin
